Hello all I am Owl. A resident of #wicca on the Undernet IRC. Yes I did say resident as I seem to live more there than I do in the "real" world.
About myself
I was born on the 19 of January 1969 at 3.18pm. That makes me a Capricorn/Aquarius since I am within one degree of being Aquarius, and as you might imagine it does a lot to me.
I had joined the US Army when I was seventeen (1986), and got out in 1994. I was stationed in Germany for the better part of six of those years. After the Gulf War I was into the goth crowd in Germany, and was writing a vampire novel when I met this girl in a goth club that I wanted to use as a character in the book. Well as it turned out she had told me many things including that she was wiccan. I ended up spending all my time reading up on this religion, and kinda forgot to finish the book. That was the start of my walk down this path of paganism.
I am currently employed as a assistant bar manager. I am trying to get a computer servicing company opened up and running. I have a great deal of support from all sides in this, like people in the channel that have troubles with their PCs.
I became disenchanted with the Christian church when during the service the pastor had said that all that is not part of the body of Christ will burn in hell. Well me being me, I had said "What happens to the native people of this country that died before the knowledge of Christ was brought over?" Well the answer I got was that they would burn in hell. Needless to say I had never gone back.
Even though I am a Wiccan first and formost, I have found the good in all religions out there. Yes to and include Christianity. I have learned to make my own interpretations of the bible, and not listen to what everyone else has to try and tell me what they think I should know or how I should know it. I have no trouble with any other belief systems out there, but I will not take having it shoved down my throat.
I have ended up being known as one of the channel samrtasses. It has been said that comedy is the medicine for the soul. Well I am there to make sure that all souls are well medicated :)
My hobbies include: Reading, and Writing, as well as writing music, and poetry. And if haven't guessed it by now, IRC takes up loads of my time. I wouldn't know whether to call it a hobby, or a fixation. As well as computers. I always seem to be giving some advice or doing something for people in the channel.
So if you ever see me in the channel. Chances are that you will. Just give me a holler, and I will be more than likely to strike up a conversation with you.
