Blessed Be and welcome to my room!!! Pull up a virtual floor pillow!
As far as I know I have always been a Witch. I began using herbs for healing at the age of 10, about the same time I tried trans-atlantic psychic contact with a friend in Europe. I had a little more success with the herbs than the ESP, and now use e-mail and IRC to talk to ppl overseas. (I know, how mundane.) A college friend introduced me to Wicca, and I discovered it was the name of all I believed and all I practiced, and I dedicated to the Craft on Samhain 1991.
Currently I am the wife of a Cabalistic mage (see Linquini !!!! ), mother of two delightful children, and hostess to several cats and a dog. In addition to doing gobs of Susie- Homemaker things I work as a lactation counselor, doula (professional labor assistant), and am apprenticing as a midwife. I see my professional work as a calling from my patron Goddess Artemis, known as the Goddess of Midwives for assisting her mother birth Apollo, and as Artemis the Thousand-Breasted (thank Goddess, I have only two).
My interests include my family, reading, archery, cycling, gardening, cooking, painting in oil, sketching in charcoal and pencil, astrology, singing, dancing, foreign languages and cultures, herbalogy, fighting unjust laws governing home birth and witchcraft, studying symbolism and archetypes, surreal fish, the Tarot, comparative religions, Native American Indian medicine studies, Irc-ing, flirting, and other stuff I have failed to mention, but most importantly, good friends, good music and good food.
Favorite books include The Kin of Ata are Waiting for You by Dorothy Bryant, the Awakening by Kate Chopin, and Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.. Tom Robbins' books are acid in literary form. I also enjoy banned books. Recommendations welcome!
In the future, I expect to be arrested for either my beliefs or practices, especially as the First Amendment becomes more of a joke. I also hope to see the remaining Wonders of the Ancient World and to learn to play the saxophone before I die.
