Merry Meet! My name is Kira or RavenSky on IRC! The name Kira is from the movie "Dark Crystal" it's the little girl Gelfling's name. She is a favorite character of mine, strong yet gentle, with an ability to relate and speak with animals. (Yes I relate to a Muppet®....so sue me!!! *grin*). I love all things about elves and færies!!!

RavenSky is the name I use in wiccan practices...the Raven is my spirit guide, and means a great deal to me. Many new things have been happening in my life lately, the goddess is pulling my life together like never before.

In my "mundane" life I work for an animal pharmaceutical company ~days, and go to school full time ~ nights. I am a junior at Buena Vista University. This leaves little time for anything else so I chose IRC in lue of sleep!! I am an avid reader..enjoy mostly sci fi/fantasy and classic, gothic literature...but read nearly everything. I am also a movie FANATIC, favorites include: The Crow, Pulp Fiction, Seven, Dune, Bram Stokers Dracula, Desperado, Princess Bride, Interview with a Vampire (liked the books better, but visually it was incredible) and many, many more. I am a music FREAK, favs are nine inch nails, Marilyn Manson, Future Sounds of London, Enya, Enigma, classical music, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, KMFDM, and lots of Techno dance music...love to dance.......whew!!

Religiously I have had many diverse experiences. Raised Presbyterian...hated it! No one could ever answer my questions! I took Chinese Kung Fu and dabbled with many different spiritual beliefs. Also became a belly-dancer during this time :) Then in 1987 through friends I became a born-again Christian, wow...what an eye opener that was...needless to say I'm not anymore. For 3 years though I gave it my best shot, and with mind control and brainwashing, I made a pretty good bible thummper *lol* I have few regrets from this time, I was able to read the bible many times over and get a grasp on what is up with it...this has helped me out in many discussions with people who THINK they know it.

As far as my current beliefs....I am very eclectic in my spirituality...I have borrowed things from many different areas. I think that all spiritual beliefs have common roots and tend to grow in the same direction, towards the same goal. I am reading a lot about wicca and the craft in general, I feel this is pulling into line all the diverse threads.

I also dabble in tarot, astral projection, herbalism/gardening, essential oils/aromatherapy and crystal/gem magick. I am always interested in learning about new and different beliefs and spiritual paths. When you meet me on-line be ready for humor..I have a hard time getting serious....but I do love a serious discussion...go figure!!
